The Relationship Consumption Between Breakfast Habits And Childrens Nutritional Status At SDN 33 Jollo Pangkep District
Abstract
Breakfast is a meal consumed before starting daily activities and plays an essential role in
providing energy to support both physical and cognitive activities. This study aims to
determine the relationship between breakfast habits and the nutritional status of children
at SD Negeri 33 Jollo, Pangkep Regency. The independent variable in this study is
breakfast habits, while the dependent variable is nutritional status. The study population
includes all students in grades IV, V, and VI, totaling 36 individuals selected using a total
sampling technique. Data collection was conducted through weight measurements using
a digital scale, height measurements using a microtoise, and body mass index (BMI)
calculations based on the classification from the Ministry of Health (2020). Breakfast
habits were assessed through a questionnaire. Data analysis using the Chi-Square test
showed a p-value of 0.499 (p > 0.05), indicating that there is no significant relationship
between breakfast habits and the nutritional status of children at SD Negeri 33 Jollo,
Pangkep Regency.
